Carlos Alcaraz notched a 3-1 win over Nuno Borges in the third round to set up this clash with Draper.

The pair have met three times in total, with Alcaraz winning twice and Draper securing one victory.

Jack Draper has been in fine form across his Australian Open campaign in 2025, although he has not had a single game all his own way as yet.

Each match against Mariano Navone, Thanasi Kokkinakis and Aleksandar Vukic has gone to five sets, while Draper has been 2-1 down in all three of his matches this term.

While Draper has displayed his incredible ability to stay in a game and eventually come out as the winner, he cannot afford to allow Alcaraz to get ahead in the clash if he is to move into the next round. Each of the three opponents the British star has already played are talented players, but none are on the same level as his next opponent.

While I do back Draper to avoid being beaten to nil, I do not predict that he will take more than one set as he is eliminated by Alcaraz.

Carlos Alcaraz Form

Carlos Alcaraz has been in excellent form across the start of 2025, notching three successive wins to move into the fourth round of the Australian Open.

His third round clash with Nuno Borges constituted his biggest test so far as Alcaraz dropped a set for the first time in a 6-2 6-4 6-7 6-2 triumph. Despite this, Alcaraz looked relatively untroubled in a victory that showcased all of his abilities on the court.

Alcaraz was beaten by Draper in their last clash in June 2024, and the Spaniard will be desperate to exact revenge this time. With this in mind, I am backing a 3-1 win for Alcaraz as he edges closer to a shot at the trophy.
