Emma Raducanu has taken some time to build back towards her best after struggling to 17 wins and 19 defeats in a torrid season in 2022. 2023 saw her win five and lose five, while 2024 ended with 23 wins in 36 outings.

Raducanu's stunning triumph at the US Open in 2021 now seems like a long time ago after a few tough years. However, a pair of straight-sets wins in Australia in 2025 has seen Raducanu channeling the sort of form that saw her secure her one and only Slam in 2021.

While Raducanu has what it takes to give Swiatek some issues on the court, three 2-0 defeats to Swiatek across their previous meetings means I am predicting a straight sets defeat for the British star.

Iga Swiatek Form

Iga Swiatek has been superb at the start of the new year, and she arrives as one of the major favourites to secure the Australian Open trophy this year.

A 6-3 6-4 win over Katerina Siniakova was followed by an even easier 6-0 6-2 win over Rebecca Sramkova in the second round. Having played six matches in 2025, Swiatek has secured five wins, only losing to Coco Gauff prior to the Australian Open.

While Swiatek has had her issues in the past at major tournaments, I do not see her slipping to a defeat in this one.
