Udinese vs Bologna

Bologna remain in the mix for a top four finish and travel to Udinese for an Italian Serie A fixture.

Fresh from reaching the final of the Coppa Italia, the visitors will come into this clash full of confidence.

Led by the impressive Riccardo Orsolini, they should be too strong for the hosts, who have been out of sorts in recent weeks.

Udinese Form

Udinese appear to be ending the season with a whimper having lost their last five Serie A matches, including a 2-1 defeat at Torino last time out. They have slipped into the bottom half of the table and now sit 11th in the table just three points off 10th-placed Torino.

Among the problems for Udinese lately is a lack of cutting edge in attack having failed to score in four of their last five matches. Kosta Runjaic's team seem to lack motivation with little to play for as they are well clear of the relegation zone while not in contention for the European places.

This lethargy has also been evident in Udinese's recent home games as they have lost their last two matches in front of their fans. Once again, Zebrette have struggled to find their range in attack, failing to score in both fixtures.

Bologna Form

In contrast to the hosts, Bologna have plenty to play for as the season draws to an end after reaching the Coppa Italia final in midweek. They beat Empoli 2-1 in Thursday’s semi-final second leg for a 5-1 aggregate victory.

In the league, Bologna are pushing for the UEFA Champions League places and head into this round of matches fourth in the table, one point above Juventus. Vincenzo Italiano’s team are unbeaten in seven their last eight Serie a matches, claiming six wins in that run, including a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in their previous fixture.

Bologna seem to get better the longer a game goes on and have won the second half in six of their last seven matches across all competitions. They are often led by Orsolini, who comes into Monday’s clash looking to add to his 14 Serie A goals this season.

Udinese and Bologna have picked up.one win each, with eight draws from the last 11 matches. Both teams battled to a 1-1 scoreline in the reverse fixture back in August, with Orsolini opening the scoring.

Bologna often outlast their opponents and have won the second half in six of their last seven matches in all competitions. A repeat is on the cards here while Orsolini is expected to add to his 14 Serie A goals this season having also been on target in the reverse fixture.
