Novak Djokovic has been in excellent form at the Australian Open in 2025, and he looks back to his best following a tough run in Grand Slams in 2024.

Djokovic ended 2024 without a Grand Slam crown and, with the exception of Olympic gold in tennis, the Serb went without a major trophy. However, he seems intent on changing this in 2025 as he is now just two wins away from securing his 25th Grand Slam crown.

His win over Alcaraz in the last round was a complete performance in which we saw the all-conquering Djokovic bounce back from a set down to power to the victory. While Zverev constitutes a tough challenge, I predict that Djokovic will show his class once again as he battles to victory.

Alexander Zverev Form

Alexander Zverev was enjoying a straightforward run at the Australian Open as his opening three rounds ended in straight sets wins.

However, Ugo Humbert and Tommy Paul brought bigger challenges for Zverev in the fourth round and quarter-finals. While he came through both matches in four sets, he did not look unbeatable. Indeed, the second set against Humbert and the third set against Paul saw Zverev lose 6-2 as he struggled to compete.

With Djokovic in scintillating form right now, Zverev cannot afford to let his levels drop at any point if he is to defeat his opponent. While I do back Zverev to push Djokovic, I do not see him defeating the Serb in this one.

I am backing Djokovic to win this one 3-2 as he moves into yet another Grand Slam final, with Zverev once again wasting the chance to finally win a Slam.
