Strasbourg vs Lyon
The French Ligue 1 returns after the international break with a Friday night clash between Strasbourg and Lyon.
Both teams are still in the mix for the European places and have been in good form lately. Their recent good form has been driven by impressive attacks and with neither defence looking solid at the moment, goals could be expected here.
Strasbourg Form
Strasbourg have plenty of reasons to be pleased with their campaign as they are currently in the mix for the European places, sitting seventh in the table, two points off the top six. Liam Rosenior's men were in good form prior to the international break, claiming five wins and a draw from their last six Ligue 1 matches.
The hosts showed character to come from behind and claim a 2-1 victory over Toulouse in their previous Ligue 1 fixture. That result maintains their solid home record and they are now unbeaten in nine of their last 10 league fixtures in front of their fans.
Led by Emmanuel Emegha, who has 11 Ligue 1 goals this season, Strasbourg have impressed going forward, scoring in six of their last seven Ligue 1 matches. However, they are without a clean sheet in seven of their last 10 home matches across all competitions, with all seven fixtures producing over 2.5 goals.
Lyon Form
Lyon were also on the rise prior to the international break, reaching the Europa League quarter-finals and playing themselves into contention for the Champions League places. They are now four points behind second placed Marseille and come into this clash with five wins from their last six Ligue 1 matches despite the ban on manager Paulo Fonseca.
Alexandre Lacazette has been pivotal in Lyon's recent resurgence scoring five times in the last six Ligue 1 matches to take his tally to 10 League goals for the season. The striker scored the opener as the visitors claimed a 4-2 home victory over Le Havre in their previous fixture.
Lyon have however been vulnerable in defence and are without a clean sheet in eight of their last 10 away matches across all competitions. Seven of the fixtures in that run have also produced over 2.5 goals.

Lyon have the upper hand in this fixture and are unbeaten in four of the last five matches against Strasbourg. The visitors claimed a 4-3 home victory in the reverse fixture back in August.
Verdict
Strasbourg and Lyon have quality going forward and often show it when they meet, with both teams scoring in six of their last seven matches. Five of those fixtures have produced over 2.5 goals and a similar outcome is expected here.
Lacazette hit some good form before the international break with five goals in the last six Ligue 1 matches. Having also scored twice in the last three matches against Strasbourg, the striker is a good punt in the anytime goalscorer market.
