Vegas Falcons will seek their first victory of the season on Friday, February 21, when they face off against Cloud9 New York in the second week of Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers. It will mark the first clash between the two squads, and while C9NY are billed as favourites, even they are not perfect.

Cloud9 New York have looked very rough since the start of the season, with just four wins, three of which came online. And while they took down Toronto Ultra last weekend, C9NY need a roster change if they wish to reach new heights.
C9NY are still rightly priced as favourites, but they are not polished enough to say that they are a good team.

They’re 1-6 on Control but seem to do fine on Search & Destroy with a 41.9% win rate, which is only slightly worse than Cloud9 New York (42.9%).
On a more positive note, the Vegas Falcons went to game four in their last two games against Boston Breach and Los Angeles Thieves and came close to winning Hardpoint against Boston. While not the best results, the Vegas Falcons are showing some signs of life.

S&D is not their best mode, as Cloud9 hold a 42.9% win rate, and they are not too good on Hardpoint either, boasting a 46.7% win rate. Control is better at 55.6%. Overall, C9NY have a lot of work to do.
It seems like Cloud9 New York need a roster change to reach new heights, but it does seem unlikely for that to happen. Another 1-1 week might do it, and a loss on Friday will definitely spark conversations about a potential change.
