LA Thieves are heavily favoured to win this match, as you can find them priced as low as 1.38 on the top crypto betting sites. This makes very little sense, especially considering how good the Surge looked in their last head-to-head match, which was anything but a one-sided affair.

Vancouver Surge have looked great over the last month, showing significant improvement from what they showed earlier in the season.

Last weekend, they made it to the CDL 2025 Stage 2 Minor finals with victories against Boston Breach (3-1), Atlanta FaZe (3-2), and Toronto Ultra (3-0).

They could not make it past LA Thieves in the grand final (3-4), but the Surge still played a highly competitive series, which could've easily ended the other way.

Considering Vancouver Surge's strong display in their last clash with the Thieves, it is fair to question why they are priced as such big underdogs. They certainly did not look like it on Monday.

Los Angeles Thieves Form

With their title run at CDL 2025 Stage 2 Minor, Los Angeles Thieves made a strong case for themselves as the best CoD esports team in the league. They are now 8-2 from their last 10, which includes two close losses to Atlanta FaZe.

At Minor 2, the Thieves bested Cloud9 New York (3-1), Carolina Royal Ravens (3-0), and Vancouver Surge (4-3). The latter was a highly competitive series in which the Thieves took a 3-1 lead, lost the next two, and closed it out with 3-2 on Control – Hacienda and 6-3 on Search & Destroy – Skyline.

While the Thieves proved to be the better team on the day, Surge put up a serious fight and could've easily won the series had they not dropped S&D – Vault.

Vancouver Surge v Los Angeles Thieves

Los Angeles Thieves bested Vancouver Surge on Monday 4-3 in the CDL 2025 Stage 2 Minor, for which they deserve praise. But the game was very close and could've easily ended the other way around.

This is not an indication of the Thieves' weakness, but it indicates how good the Surge are. They've been improving over the last month, and their competitive series against the Thieves at the start of the week is good proof that they can hold their own.

As outsiders, the Vancouver Surge are worth a bet.
