Toronto Ultra and Vegas Falcons will clash on Friday, March 7, in the third week of Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers, for the second time this season, after the Ultra swept Vegas Falcons 3-0 in CDL 2025 Major 1 Qualifiers.

The rematch is unlikely to end any differently, not necessarily because Toronto Ultra are that good, but rather because Vegas Falcons are that weak.

The Falcons have yet to win a Hardpoint map this season, and their Search & Destroy and Control records are hardly any better.

Until the Vegas Falcons start showing something, they are an automatic fade for any game.

Toronto Ultra ended CDL 2025 Stage 2 Minor in third-fourth place, where they beat OpTic Texas (3-0) but lost to Vancouver Surge (0-3).

Prior to their Minor 2 campaign, the Ultra have managed a rather underwhelming 2-4 record, with wins against Boston Breach and Carolina Royal Ravens and losses against Atlanta FaZe, Carolina Royal Ravens, Cloud9 New York, and Los Angeles Thieves.

Toronto Ultra are not up there with the top teams in the league, but they do well against mid-table squads and other weaker opponents. So, while it would be too optimistic to believe that Toronto Ultra have a realistic chance to win the league, they should not struggle against Vegas Falcons, who are an entirely new level of weak.

It is hard, nearly impossible, to find any positive thing to say about the Vegas Falcons. After nearly two stages, they're still winless, having now lost 14 games in a row.

Even more concerning is that the Falcons have, over the 14 BO3 series played, managed to win just seven maps, and not once did they force map five.

There is not much to say about this team. Vegas Falcons are not at the level of other CDL squads, and while there are some struggling outfits in the league, the Falcons take the cake as by far the weakest team.

There is not much to say about this game, which is the case with most of the fixtures involving the Vegas Falcons. The Falcons are by far the weakest team in the CDL, having now lost 14 games in a row and not one extended to five maps.

They're particularly weak on Hardpoint, having yet to win the game mode, but it is not like the Falcons showed much on Control and Search & Destroy either.

Admittedly, Toronto Ultra have a lot of improving to do if they wish to threaten the title. But they should not drop a map, let alone the series, against a team like the Falcons.
