The MongolZ vs M80 Predictions
The MongolZ and M80 will clash on Thursday, March 20, in the opening round of Group B at BLAST Open Spring 2025, marking their first meeting of the season. As a much higher-rated team, MongolZ are expected to crush M80, but the Mongolian squad might not be as dominant as expected.

The MongolZ are billed as 1.15 favourites to defeat M80, which gives them an 87% chance of beating M80 and 61.7% of a 2-0 sweep. Those are very high numbers and somewhat justifiable following MongolZ’s solid showing at ESL Pro League Season 21.
However, at these prices, M80 to take a map are a very inviting choice from a betting perspective, as even though they’ve not accomplished as much, M80 can bite.
- M80 are much lower rated
- This is MongolZ’s game to lose
- M80 are not likely to win, but they can do some damage
Head to Head
The MongolZ and M80 have yet to meet this season.
The MongolZ Form
The MongolZ are the third-highest rated team attending BLAST Open Spring 2025 and rightly considered one of the main favourites to win the event. They are enjoying a solid start to the season, having finished top-four at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2025, fifth-eighth at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, and made another semifinal at ESL Pro League Season 21 earlier this month.
At ESL Pro League Season 21, The MongolZ defeated GamerLegion, G2 Esports, 3DMAX, and Natus Vincere. Still, they could not make it past Team Spirit and Team Vitality, who eliminated them in the semifinals.
Despite the bittersweet ending to the tournament, The MongolZ showed up, played well, and proved they belong among the best teams in the world. So it comes as no surprise that they’re expected to have an easy time against M80 this Thursday.

M80 Form
M80 are one of the outsiders attending BLAST Open Spring 2025 after an early elimination from ESL Pro League Season 21.
M80 had an explosive start to the tournament, with wins against FlyQuest (2-0) and paiN Gaming (2-0), but then lost the next three against SAW (1-2), 3DMAX (0-2) and FURIA (1-2), thus failed to reach the second stage and placed 17th-19th.
Prior to their ESL Pro League campaign, M80 showed good form, with a silver medal from ICE Invitational 2025 and Ace North American Masters Spring 2025. Yet that means very little after M80’s rough displays in the international event, suggesting they are unlikely to make it very far.

Verdict
The MongolZ are rightly priced as the favourites to defeat M80, who have looked fairly toothless in their recent international competitive endeavours. But I can not look past M80 on the map handicap at 2.20.
The MongolZ are the better team, but they have recently finished their ESL Pro League Season 21 campaign, are likely fatigued from the demanding schedule, and have likely not put in much preparation for this match and instead got ready for other, tougher opponents.
While I’m not underestimating The MongolZ and their chances to win, M80 have had some decent showings recently and should be in a good spot to force at least one close map.
