Team Falcons have recently made the finals of PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, proving they belong among the elite Counter-Strike 2 teams. While this roster was expected to find some traction at one point, they did it sooner than anticipated and will look to keep the momentum going at ESL Pro League Season 21.

Team Liquid did not attend PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 and have not played a game since IEM Katowice 2025 at the start of the month. There, they showed some good things but did not make it very far.

Team Falcons had a very rough start to the season with their new roster, failing to find much success in the bigger events. However, something clicked last month when the Falcons made the finals of PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 with wins against Astralis, FlyQuest, MOUZ, Eternal Fire, and FaZe Clan.

While one good tournament run does not prove a lot, the Falcons have a very experienced and talented roster, so it was only a matter of time before they figured things out and started performing at an elite level. Their run in Romania is a good indication that they have indeed found traction.

ESL Pro League Season 21 will be a proper test for the Falcons, who still have to prove their performance in the PGL event was not a fluke. Still, given their past showings, it is hard to question their ability to compete for top spots.

Team Liquid Form

Team Liquid put together a solid roster, but they have not found much success since the start of the year. Liquid started the season with a ninth-16th-place finish at BLAST Bounty Spring 2025: Closed Qualifier and, in February, added a ninth-12th-place finish at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2025.

Over the two tournaments, Team Liquid have played eight games and won four – against 9Pandas, Complexity, Wildcard, and MOUZ. The four losses came against HEROIC (twice), The MongolZ, and Team Spirit.

In Liquid's defence, they've only lost against strong teams. But if you consider the Falcons a strong team, too, then it is more than fair to say that Liquid will struggle just as much this Friday.

On paper, Team Liquid should be able to do well against Team Falcons, but that is only if you believe that the Falcons' run at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 was a fluke. In Romania, the Falcons proved they can compete with the world's best teams, and if they can keep the wheels spinning, another deep tournament run should not escape them.

At the offered betting odds, I would much rather be on the side of the improved Falcons rather than the ring-rusty Team Liquid, who've not played a match in a month.
