Team Falcons will take on FURIA on Monday, March 10, in the fourth round of ESL Pro League Season 21, in the decider round, as both teams fight for survival.

Falcons and FURIA started Stage 2 with just one win from their opening three games, struggling to perform against other attending teams. The Falcons slipped against 3DMAX and MOUZ, while FURIA lost to Liquid and MOUZ.

Yet, despite their struggles, the Falcons are billed as favourites, which is not too surprising. They’ve shown good things earlier this season and have looked much better than FURIA of late.

Moreover, the Falcons, unlike FURIA, have players who can pop off and carry their team to victory, so barring any surprises, this is the Falcons’ game to lose.

Team Falcons made the finals of PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 at the end of February and, with that, proved they belong among the elite Counter-Strike 2 teams. However, despite their success in Romania, the Falcons have failed to perform up to expectations at the ESL Pro League.

They kicked off the tournament with a 2-1 victory against Team Liquid but lost their next two outings against MOUZ (0-2) and 3DMAX, who bested them 2-1 in the previous round. 3DMAX are a solid team, so that loss is not too worrying. Conversely, you would expect more from PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 finalists.

As proven last month, the Falcons should have much more left in the tank. The only question is whether they can show it on Monday.

FURIA Form

FURIA have not had the best run through ESL Pro League Season 21, and that’s an understatement.

They barely made it through the first stage and have managed just one win in the second stage – against MIBR (2-1). The other two outings, against Team Liquid and MOUZ, ended in losses: 0-2 and 1-2, respectively.

The Brazilians showed signs of life in their recent derby against MIBR and came close to winning the series 2-0. They picked up Anubis with 13-9 and dropped in overtime on Mirage (17-19) before crushing MIBR on Inferno with 13-1.

Yuurih was the top player on the day, posting a 1.34 performance rating, ahead of KSCERATO with 1.23. While a promising sign, FURIA also need to perform against more formidable opponents, which they have yet to do.

Verdict

Team Falcons v FURIA

FURIA showed some signs of life in their win against MIBR, but I’m not convinced that they can do well against a tougher opponent such as Team Falcons.

Admittedly, the Falcons have not looked as good recently as they did during PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, but they showed what they’re capable of in Romania, and if we see just a fraction of that here, the Falcons should win comfortably.
