Natus Vincere and paiN Gaming will face off on Friday, January 24, in the final quarterfinal match of BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 Finals. While NaVI are heavily favoured to win, paiN Gaming are in great shape and can do some damage.

The no.1 Counter-Strike 2 team of 2024, Natus Vincere, will be aiming for the BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 Finals title to add to their impressive trophy cabinet, and it would not be the most shocking thing to see them win the tournament. However, NaVi are up against paiN, who looked incredible in the closed qualifiers.

PaiN are naturally billed as underdogs, yet their wins against FaZe Clan and GamerLegion are proof enough that the Brazilians can perform against elite teams, suggesting they should do some damage on Friday.

Natus Vincere qualified for BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 Finals with wins against Imperial Female and Astralis, who they beat without many issues. NaVi dropped double digits only once over the four maps played, which is impressive, although it is not like Imperial Female or Astralis were expected to pose a serious threat.

NaVi ended the closed qualifiers as the second-highest-rated team, averaging a 1.26 performance rating over the four maps played. Much of NaVi's success was thanks to Valerij "b1t" Vakhovsjkyj, who ended the qualifiers as the third-highest-rated player (1.63) ahead of Justinas "jL" Lekavičius at 1.34.

Overall a very good display from NaVi, but they are now up against a much more formidable opponent, so things will not go as smoothly.

PaiN Gaming are not expected to do well on Friday, which is unsurprising as they are up against the no.1 team from 2024. However, paiN have been playing exceptionally well of late.

During the closed qualifiers, paiN defeated GamerLegion and humiliated FaZe Clan with 13-10 on Dust 2 and 13-11 on Inferno. This result alone is a good enough indication that paiN can perform at the highest level and potentially a sign that they can stand up against Natus Vincere.

The newest arrival, David "dav1deuS" Tapia has been on fire lately, posting a 1.27 rating during the closed qualifiers. While he is by far the highest-ranked player on paiN, João "snow" Vinicius and Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt have been doing well too.

Natus Vincere v paiN Gaming

As a team who have not accomplished nearly as much as Natus Vincere in 2024, paiN Gaming enter this fixture as an underdogs. And while this makes sense on paper, the Brazilians are in exceptional form and have recently humiliated FaZe Clan, indicating that they are no pushovers.

Beating another tier-1 team will not come as easy, but Natus Vincere are not known for their consistency, especially in recent months.

So, while this will be NaVi's game to lose, paiN Gaming have shown enough for me to believe that they will be good for at least one map.
