Both teams have been a bit up-and-down this tournament, struggling when faced with tougher opponents. However, both teams have shown high highs earlier this year, which suggests we are in for an exciting series between two squads with a lot to prove and tools to do just that.

MOUZ look stronger on paper, having accomplished a lot more with this roster. But they have shown cracks in their recent outings, which makes it easier to believe Virtus.pro can do some damage.

MOUZ started the tournament strong, beating BIG (2-0) and 3DMAX (2-0) without any significant issues, but they have since slowed down and lost their next two games, against FaZe Clan (0-2) and Team Falcons (1-2), who reverse-swept them on Monday with 13-10 on Mirage and 13-8 on Ancient.

It is hard to explain how MOUZ found themselves in this position, as they have all the tools needed to succeed; however, in their defence, MOUZ had to face two strong teams, including the Falcons, who seem to have figured things out and are playing much better.

The recent signing, Spinx, has been doing well in his debut tournament for MOUZ, as he is the team’s second-highest-rated player, averaging a 1.09 performance rating over the nine maps played. Yet, while individually, MOUZ are doing well, they are not that efficient as a unit and seem to be all over the place, showing weak CT-side one day and strong CT side and weak T-side the next.

Virtus.pro have had quite a resurgence at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2025, where they made it to the knockout stage, only to get eliminated by the current Major champions, Team Spirit. Prior to that loss, they bested SAW, MIBR, G2 Esports, and Eternal Fire, which was quite impressive, especially after VP’s shaky display at BLAST Bounty Spring 2025: Closed Qualifier.

The Russian outfit managed to carry over some of the momentum to PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, although they’ve not had much success when faced with 3DMAX (1-2) and paiN Gaming (0-2). They did, however, have an easy time against Complexity (2-0) and Wildcard (2-0).

VP have so far done what was expected of them - they crushed weaker teams but struggled against tougher opponents.

Both teams have underperformed so far at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, but that is more obvious with MOUZ, who started strong and slowed down in rounds three and four. Virtus.pro have not found much success against paiN and 3DMAX, but they came close to winning the two series, so there is more to this team than meets the eye.

Based on what the two squads have shown lately, this looks closer to a 50/50 match than anything else. With that in mind, Virtus.pro at outsider odds are a more appealing bet.
