MOUZ and Team Liquid will face off in the fourth round of ESL Pro League Season 21 in the decider match, where both Counter-Strike 2 squads will fight for a ticket leading into the playoffs.

The two teams last met during Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2025, when Liquid won in two maps, but they are not expected to do it again this Monday. This comes as no surprise, as Team Liquid have yet to prove they can compete against the world’s best teams, and their record heading into this match is far from inspiring.

This is MOUZ’s game to lose.

MOUZ entered ESL Pro League Season 21 following a title-run at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, which marked their first big event trophy since BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #1 in May 2024. However, between the two title runs, MOUZ have produced some notable performances, so it is not like their success in Romania came as a surprise.

So far in ESL Pro League, MOUZ have beaten FURIA (2-1) and Team Falcons (2-0) but were unable to make it past Team Vitality in Round 3. It was a rough loss for MOUZ, who combined just 13 rounds across the series, with 13-6 on Inferno and 13-7 on Dust II.

Even though MOUZ lost to Vitality, they are expected to do much better against Liquid, who should pose less of a threat.

Team Liquid Form

Team Liquid have yet to win a tournament this season, nor have they come close to accomplishing that feat. Liquid showed some signs of life at IEM Katowice 2025, where they beat MOUZ 2-0. However, since then, Liquid have played just four games and they’ve not shown much.

At ESL Pro League Season 21, Liquid have lost to Falcons (1-2), and bested FURIA and Eternal Fire – both 2-0. While a promising start, Liquid have yet to prove they can compete against the world’s best teams, and that was this roster’s issue even in late 2024.

Verdict

MOUZ v Team Liquid

MOUZ did not make it past Team Vitality, who humiliated them in the previous round; however, that slip-up does not prove that MOUZ will struggle against Liquid. No matter how you look at it, this is MOUZ’s game to lose; they’ve reached higher highs this season and have proven they can compete at the highest level.

Team Liquid are still a bit of an enigma, as they’ve only found success against weaker opponents since the turn of the year. While there is a world where Liquid prove me wrong, I’m ready to pay to see it.
