Astralis entered the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 playoffs as one of the main candidates to exit the tournament from the quarterfinals. Then, they left quite a statement in their 2-0 victory against The MongolZ, finally showing the level of play that was expected of this roster.

One good game does not take away from months of struggles Astralis have shown, but there is no denying that Astralis have just posted their best game of the season. Will they translate the same form to Saturday is anyone’s guess, but MOUZ have looked shaky enough to believe this will be a competitive game.

After a rough run through the group stage, in which MOUZ finished with a 3-2 record, they eliminated paiN Gaming from PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 quarterfinals, with 13-11 on Inferno and Mirage.

It was not the most dominant showing from MOUZ, but they made it though and are now just one step away from locking in a spot in the grand finals. It was their most notable victory of the season, having previously beaten BIG, 3DMAX, and Virtus.pro, but even that was not the most convincing display.

MOUZ are capable of much more than they’ve shown so far in 2025, but they are not quite there yet. And until we see results closer to what MOUZ produced in late 2024, it is hard to feel overly optimistic about them.

What a turnaround from the Danes, who left a huge statement with that win and pushed themselves into the conversation of potential PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 champions. While one game proves nothing, this roster should’ve been playing better a long time ago, and it seems like they’ve finally figured things out.

Had this game been played yesterday, MOUZ would have been an obvious pick. Now, the choice is not as easy.

MOUZ have been performing well this season, but they’ve yet to show anything exceptional, especially when faced with tougher teams. Astralis have been bad for most of the year but turned it around with their win against MongolZ.

Even before that series, Astralis have shown some glimpses of improvement, so it is fair to say that that win was more than a flash in the pan. While I will remain cautiously optimistic about Astralis, they’ve shown enough to believe they can perform against MOUZ.
