Minnesota RØKKR and Vancouver Surge are set to clash on Sunday, March 16, in the final week of Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers. It'll mark their third meeting of the season after the RØKKR won the most recent clash at Major 1.

Vancouver Surge are expected to win, which, considering their past results, is not too surprising. However, the RØKKR are not a team to be underestimated; they have the tools to do some serious damage on Sunday.

Minnesota RØKKR, like Vancouver Surge, have to work on their map pool if they wish to accomplish much at Major 2. While this is not a game to practice weak maps, the lacklustre map pools on both sides could lead to a competitive game.

RØKKR have proven to be a competitive team with a positive win rate on Hardpoint and Search & Destroy. Meanwhile, their Control needs some work, currently sitting at 41.7% win rate, with 33.3% on Protocol, where RØKKR are 3-6.

Map pool has been an issue for Minnesota RØKKR, who gave a few strong maps, but also too many maps on which they are weak. Interestingly, some of RØKKR's best maps are Surge's weakest and the other way around.

Vancouver Surge looked excellent at the start of the stage but have since slowed down a bit and will enter this match off an uninspiring 3-1 victory against Miami Heretics and a 2-3 loss against Toronto Ultra on Friday.

It is a weird mix of results, which saw Surge drop two Search & Destroy maps, one Control and one Hardpoint, indicating that they've lost the momentum from earlier this stage.

Much like RØKKR, Surge have a few maps on which they do well, mainly Protocol, but also maps on which they struggle too much.

Minnesota RØKKR are priced as underdogs for this match, which is not too surprising, considering the Surge have reached higher highs this stage. However, the Vancouver Surge have not looked as good recently and have started to show some cracks, which the RØKKR could take advantage of.

The map selection will play a bit role in this series, as both teams have maps on which they do well and maps on which they do not, with no crossover. This leads me to believe we're in for a very competitive game.
