LOUD won the first match against KRU but lost the rematch 0-2 when KRU eliminated them from the lower bracket quarterfinals. Despite going 1-1 in the head-to-head, KRU are billed as favourites, which makes some sense if you believe that they have a lot of unexplored potential.

On the other hand, LOUD underperformed in VCT Kickoff, and with the added time off, they could surprise many.

KRU proved that they’re a competitive team, and while their run in the Kickoff event did not end as well as many expected, KRU enter VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1 as one of the teams to watch.

There are also reports that KRU are doing well in the pre-season scrims, which does not come off as a major surprise. KRU did well in Kickoff and seemed like one of the most consistent team in the league, who came out short in the end.

LOUD finished VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff in fifth-sixth-place after losing to KRU Esports in the lower bracket quarterfinals. They have, did, however, beat KRU Esports 2-0 in the first match.

That series was largely decided by the strong showing from cauanzin, who solo carried LOUD over KRU. There are no guarantees that cauanzin will have another strong showing like that, but he is a player KRU will have to look out for.

KRU Esports v LOUD

KRU Esports look like the most likely victors in this series and are rightly priced as the favourites to defeat LOUD as they did during the VCT 2025 Kickoff. While I would not doubt KRU Esports, who have shown great things, I do not believe they should be billed as 1.72 favourites over LOUD.

Both teams have had plenty of time to improve and get ready for this match, and with little to separate them quality-wise, I anticipate seeing the series decided on the third map.
