JD Gaming announced the final roster change of the offseason on Monday, December 9, when the Chinese League of Legends team revealed the departure of jungler Seo "Kanavi" Jin-hyeok and the signing of his replacement, Peng "Xun" Li-Xun.

With Xun's arrival, JD Gaming have finalised its LoL esports roster for the LoL Pro League (LPL) 2025 season. The roster now fields four new players who joined the squad in late November.

Kanavi's departure from JD Gaming is no surprise, as he was rumoured to be leaving the team this offseason.

The Korean jungler first joined JD Gaming in May 2019 as a loanee from Griffin and was offered a permanent contract by the Chinese team in November the same year.

Over the five years Kanavi has spent with JD Gaming, he helped the team win four LPL titles, the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 trophy, and two LoL World Championship semifinals.

Despite his success with JD Gaming, however, the Chinese LoL esports team opted to rebuild for the 2025 season, having failed to reach their high goals, namely last year.

With no titles to their name from the 2024 season and a disappointing third-place finish in the LPL 2024 Regional Finals, JD Gaming missed the LoL World Championship 2024 for the first time in two years.

In place of Kanavi, JD Gaming signed former Bilibili Gaming jungler Xun, who made his professional debut in 2020 with Invictus Gaming.

While his success under IG banner was fairly limited, the 22-year-old accomplished a lot more with Bilibili Gaming, who he played for the last two years.

Last season, Xun helped Bilibili Gaming win two LPL titles and silver medals from Mid-Season Invitational and LoL World Championship, cementing his status as one of the best junglers in the world.

Xun now links up with one of the most stacked LoL rosters in the world, featuring top laner Hu "Ale" Jia-Le, mid laner Lee "Scout" Ye-chan, ADC Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, and support Lou "MISSING" Yun-Feng as the only carryover from last season.
