JD Gaming vs Top Esports Predictions
JD Gaming will take on Top Esports on Thursday, February 27, in the lower bracket final in the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2025 Split 1 Playoffs. As a clash between two of the league’s top teams, this one should not disappoint, but which side will come out ahead?

Both teams have had some questionable maps so far this split, but they’ve also proven they can problem-solve and fight back into games.
But while TES and JDG look similar in how they approach their games, Top Esports deserve more respect, having had to fight through a much more challenging schedule.
Based on what the two sides have shown, Top Esports should win.
- Top Esports have had a much tougher schedule
- JD Gaming are still stumbling around
- A close game is a possibility, but this is TES’ match to lose
Head to Head
Top Esports and JD Gaming have yet to meet this season.
JD Gaming Form
Stats-wise, JD Gaming are one of the best teams in the LPL, and they look very potent even on player, fielding a roster of highly experienced and individually talented players. Like many other top teams, however, JDG have not been very pristine in their recent outings.
That makes sense due to all the roster changes JDG went through during the offseason. But even in their current state, JD Gaming have proven that they’re - like Top Esports - great at problem-solving and fighting out of weird game states.
This, unfortunately, did not help them against Anyone’s Legend in the previous round. JDG lost the first map convincingly, took advantage of AL’s mistakes on the second, threw away the third, crushed Anyone’s Legend on the fourth, but chose a terrible team composition on the final map and paid the ultimate price.
Not the most inspiring performance, but JD Gaming still showed some good things.
JD Gaming Squad & Team News
JD Gaming have not made any roster changes.
- Hu "Ale" Jia-Le - top lane
- Peng "Xun" Li-Xun - jungle
- Lee "Scout" Ye-chan - mid lane
- Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan - ADC
- Lou "MISSING" Yun-Feng - support
Top Esports Form
Top Esports were one of the best teams in the LPL last year, and not much has changed. Admittedly, TES have had some close games this split, but they have proven very good at problem-solving and finding ways back into games when things get sour.
They are very good at getting themselves in advantageous positions and typically do well with their leads. It’s also important to note that Top Esports have had a very tough schedule so far, yet they performed well, even beating Bilibili Gaming (3-1) in the previous round.
While still rough around the edges, Top Esports must be respected as a resilient and adaptable team.
Top Esports Squad & Team News
No roster changes for Top Esports.
- Bai "369" Jia-Hao - top lane
- Seo "Kanavi" Jin-hyeok - jungle
- Lin "Creme" Jian - mid lane
- Yu "JackeyLove" Wen-Bo - ADC
- Liu "Crisp" Qing-Song - support
Verdict
This looks like a very competitive game in the making, featuring two very stacked rosters, both great at problem-solving, and both not playing to their full potential yet. However, even though JDG are not to be underestimated, Top Esports have looked more convincing this split.
TES have had a tougher schedule to make it to the lower bracket finals, and they have shown improvement in their recent three outings, beating Invictus Gaming, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Bilibili Gaming. While they’ve had some shaky moments, TES proved they can fight back even when they fall behind.
There is a world where JD Gaming wake up and perform as well as they’re expected to, but heading into the match, Top Esports appear stronger.
