G2 Esports and NaVi have both managed two wins in the second stage of ESL Pro League Season 21 and are now just one victory away from securing a spot in the playoffs. Neither have had a very tough schedule, and it is more than fair to say that neither have performed as well as anticipated.

While both elite-tier squads, G2 and NaVI are not in the best shape and if their past showings are any indication, this should be a very scrappy affair.

G2 Esports enter the fourth round of ESL Pro League Season 21 with a somewhat uninspiring record. They won their first match of the tournament against the struggling paiN Gaming (2-0), then lost to The MongolZ (1-2), and bounced back with a 2-0 sweep of SAW.

Admittedly, this is not a terrible record, considering G2 Esports dominated both SAW and paiN, but it is not like those are very tough opponents.

Before ESL Pro League Season 21, G2 Esports placed ninth-12th at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice but made the BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 semifinals. So, while G2 Esports have not looked as dominant as they should have of late, this is a solid squad with solid results under their belts.

Natus Vincere Form

Natus Vincere had a tough start to ESL Pro League Season 21, as they had to admit defeat to SAW (1-2). Since then, NaVi have shown better performances as they bested TYLOO (2-1) and paiN Gaming (2-0).

In both series, NaVi played some close maps. They dropped the first one against TYLOO and reverse-swept the Chinese squad with 13-5 on Mirage and Ancient. Against paiN, NaVi had to edge out an overtime win on Train (16-14), but were more comfortable on Mirage (13-6).

Not the best results, but far from the worst. NaVi are in a fine spot, but they still have a lot more to prove.

G2 Esports and Natus Vincere are two realistic candidates to win ESL Pro League Season 21 – but only if they step up, and so far neither team have done that. Both dominated weaker opponents but also had some close calls, suggesting they are still finding traction.

According to the latest betting odds, Natus Vincere are favoured, which makes sense, as they made the semifinals of both BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 and IEM Katowice 2025. However, G2 Esports have looked slightly better at ESL Pro League Season 21 and are arguably even with NaVi quality-wise.

This should be a close game which can go either way.
