In the newest bombshell League of Legends roster move, Ninjas in Pyjamas announced the signing of former world champion Kim "Doinb" Tae-sang. The 28-year-old returns to pro play after a two-year-hiatus following his stint with LNG Esports.

Doinb's arrival at Ninjas in Pyjamas was announced following numerous rumours about him joining the LoL Pro League (LPL) team for the 2025 esports season.

More recently, Doinb revealed on his stream that he will be playing this season, and shortly after, Ninjas in Pyjamas followed him on social media.

The rumoured return of Doinb to the professional scene was well received by LoL esports fans; however, it remains to be seen how the 2019 LoL world champion will perform after such a long break.

During the peak of his career, Doinb was known as a player who shined on atypical champion picks, including Nautilus and Ryze, and was widely recognised as one of the top mid laners in the league.

He started his career in early 2015, having since played for some of the biggest squads in the Chinese LoL league, including JD Gaming, Rogue Warriors, LNG Esports, and FunPlus Phoenix.

His longest tenure was with FPX, who Doinb joined in December 2018 and remained on the active roster until his departure to LNG Esports in November 2021.

Throughout the three years, Doinb won one LPL title, two silver and two bronze medals, and helped FPX win their maiden Summoner's Cup in 2019.

Despite his illustrious career and experience, it is fair to question how quickly Doinb will manage to adapt to pro play.

However, since he stepped away from the scene in 2023, Doinb has been streaming and playing LoL a lot and even participated in some of scrims, ensuring he is familiar with the game, which has developed since his retirement in 2022.

With Doinb's arrival, it is unclear what will happen with Ninjas in Pyjamas' mid laner Zhao "neny" Zhi-Hao, who recently participated in the Demacia Cup.
