Cloud9 New York and Atlanta FaZe will clash for the second time this season on Sunday, March 16, in the final match of the Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers.

FaZe are favoured to win, which makes sense as they've shown much higher highs this season, but Cloud9 New York can be dangerous. Admittedly, C9NY have not looked as polished recently as they've had a few slip-ups, but the same can be said for FaZe.

This is Atlanta FaZe's game to lose, but there is a good chance we will see a repeat of their match against Boston Breach when FaZe played their weakest maps in preparation for Major 2. In this case, Cloud9 New York will have a realistic chance to at least force map five.

Cloud9 New York are a bit of an enigma. They looked good early into the stage and seemed like they've figured things out, but have also produced a few stinkers, including their most recent loss to Carolina Royal Ravens.

C9NY lost that game 1-3 with 197-250 on Hardpoint – Skyline, 2-6 on Search & Destroy – Vault, and 211 – 250 on Hardpoint – Red Card. C9NY did pick up Control – Protocol 3-2.

It's not the best showing from Cloud9 New York, but it is hard to say whether that loss means anything or whether they just had one poor showing. The latter is more believable as C9NY have done fairly well this stage.

Atlanta FaZe Form

Atlanta FaZe are, statistically, one of the best teams in the league. They hold a 61.9% win rate on Hardpoint, 63.2% on Search & Destroy, and 85.7% on Control.

While that is seriously impressive, FaZe also have some weaknesses Cloud9 New York will look to exploit – mainly Hacienda.

FaZe's win rate on Hacienda is 33.3% on Hardpoint and 0% (0-2) on Search & Destroy, making it their worst map. Cloud9 New York, on the other side are 75% and 83.3% on the two game modes, respectively.

It would make sense for FaZe to not allow C9NY to get Hacienda, but they are already qualified for the Major and will want to work on their weak map, so there is a world where Cloud9 get to play their best map, making this match way closer.

Last time out, Cloud9 New York nearly defeated Atlanta FaZe before they fumbled the bag on the final map. The rematch could end the same way.

The big question here is which maps will be played. FaZe have a much deeper map pool, but they could allow Hacienda to go through the ban phase, as FaZe need to work on that map, and they're not risking much even if they lose.

Atlanta FaZe recently played Boston Brach on Hacienda and did not look good, so there is a good chance they might give it another go to work on their main weakness.
