Carolina Royal Ravens will meet with OpTic Texas for the third time this season on Saturday, February 22, in the second week of Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers. Despite their success in the last two meetings, the Royal Ravens should not be considered favourites for the rematch.

The Royal Ravens are the worst Hardpoint team in the league, which is a big concern, especially when faced with OpTic Texas. Admittedly, OpTic did not look great since the arrival of Pred, but this roster will figure things out sooner rather than later.
This is a clash between two teams who are not on top of their game, with their own set of issues that will need time to work out. However, while OpTic have looked anything but great recently, the downfall of Carolina Royal Ravens is enough to consider fading them for this match.

Carolina Royal Ravens placed fourth in CDL 2025 Stage 1 Major, which is promising, but it is hard to imagine them managing another strong showing in Stage 2.
They lost to LA Thieves and Toronto Ultra in the first week, which, admittedly, does not sound too bad as Ultra and Thieves are strong teams. However, even before that, the Royal Ravens have started to show cracks, especially on Hardpoint, where they hold an abysmal 29.2% win rate.
Search & Destroy is still solid at 61.1%, but it does very little for their chances to consistently win games, as poor respawn performances can only take you that far.

OpTic Texas Form
OpTic Texas added Amer "Pred" Zulbeari as a replacement for Cuyler "Huke" Garland after a disappointing seventh-eight-place finish in CDL 2025 Stage 1 Major and have since played two games, against Atlanta FaZe and Minnesota RØKKR and lost both 0-3.
While some early struggles were expected after adding a new player, OpTic looked lifeless in both series, which is concerning.
It was not even Pred who performed poorly, but the whole team, namely Kenneth "Kenny" Williams and Kenneth "Kenny" Williams who played much worse last weekend compared to what we saw from them in Major 1 qualifiers.
There seem to be newfound issues with OpTic Texas, but with the players on this roster, it is more than fair to feel optimistic that OpTic will improve.

Neither team managed to impress in the first week of CDL 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers, but Carolina Royal Ravens’ issues stretch further back. They’re the league’s worst team on Hardpoint and only seem to do well on Search & Destroy.
This might be enough for the Royal Ravens to take one map off OpTic, but anything more seems unlikely.
