Atlanta FaZe and Vancouver Surge will meet on Friday, February 14, in the first week of Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers, for the first time this season.

Atlanta FaZe are heavily favoured to win their first match of CDL 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers, which comes as no surprise considering their form heading into the second stage of the season.

FaZe are reigning Minor and Major champions and on a 12-game winning streak, so clearly in a good position to defeat the shaky Surge. However, Vancouver have made a big roster change before the second stage and if Neptune can find his place in the team quickly, this match could be closer than expected.

Atlanta FaZe are in superb form ahead of CDL 2025 Stage 2. They had a slow start to the season, losing their first three games against Toronto Ultra, LA Thieves, and Carolina Royal Ravens.

However, since the first week of the Major 1 qualifiers, FaZe turned on their jets and won 12 straight games, which includes a perfect 4-0 run at Major 1, where they beat Boston Breach, Toronto Ultra, and LA Thieves twice to start the year with a Major trophy.

Hard to question FaZe and their quality, but at the offered betting odds, you have to question how much damage Vancouver Surge can do.

Vancouver Surge added Neptune to their roster on Thursday, who could prove to be a massive signing for the team. Neptune is a type of player who can pop-off at any time, which is exactly what Surge need, as they’ve been very slow to start the season.

Their respawns have not been the best, as Surge have a 40% win rate on Hardpoint, but they are 50% on Control with a 100% win rate on Hacienda. Search & Destroy is another game mode which needs a lot of work and is one more reason why Surge might not do well against FaZe.

Atlanta FaZe v Vancouver Surge

This is unquestionably FaZe’s game to lose and looking at the teams’ stats, it looks like a clean 3-0. However, at the offered betting odds, it is fair to back Surge to steal one.

They might not have the elite performance stats of FaZe, but with Neptune joining the roster, you have to feel cautiously optimistic about their chances to improve and find more traction.

I’ll give Surge one map, but anything beyond that seems unlikely unless FaZe slow down.
