Atlanta FaZe and Miami Heretics will face off on Saturday, February 22, in the second week of Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers in what should be a very straightforward game for the favourites.

Miami Heretics are fresh off a third-place finish in Major 1, which sounds inspiring, but they’ve not looked good this season, especially online, where they are on a run of three losses.

Notably, their Search & Destroy is lacking, and Control (10% win rate) is a problem too. With numbers like that, Miami Heretics will have a hard time getting anything from a match against the league’s top squad.

Atlanta FaZe’s 12-game winning streak got snapped in half by Vancouver Surge in the first match of CDL 2025 Stage 2 Major Qualifiers, but they got back on the horse with a 3-0 sweep of OpTic Texas. One loss does not change the fact that FaZe are easily one of the top-performing teams in the league, but it does show they have some things to work on.

Their map pool needs some polishing, namely Vault and Hacienda. Still, their Search & Destroy (77.8% win rate) is good, as is Control (64.3%) and Hardpoint (68.2%).

Overall, this is a very strong team and, by the looks of it, currently the leading contenders to win the CDL Championship. Admittedly, it is way too early to make claims like that, but FaZe have been in a class of their own for a while now.

Miami Heretics placed third at CDL 2025 Stage 1 Major, which was a promising sign, but they failed to perform in the first week of Major 2 qualifiers when they lost to Minnesota RØKKR 1-3.

This extends their online losing streak to three in a row, having previously lost to LA Thieves and Carolina Royal Ravens in the final week of Major 1 qualifiers.

Evidently, Miami Heretics are not a good online team, and even their run at Major 1 looked a bit shaky.

Their Search & Destroy is not great, with a 46.7% map win rate and their Control is in an even worse spot, boasting a 10% win rate on the game mode with a 1-9 record. One deep run at Major 1 might be misleading, but Miami Heretics are not that good.

It is very hard to imagine a world where Miami Heretics win this match or even come close to taking down FaZe. They’ve looked rough for the entire season, especially online, which will not do them any favours this weekend.

FaZe dropped a game against Vancouver Surge, but they’re still 13-1 over the last 14 outings and that includes a 3-1 victory against Miami Heretics in Minor 1. Even though their map pool needs some work, FaZe should sweep the floor with Miami Heretics.
