New Zealand's last cricket match saw them slip to a heartbreaking loss at the hands of India in the Champions Trophy, with the side now switching their focus to the Twenty20 game.

New Zealand are looking to get back to winning ways after they were left heartbroken by their loss to India in the Champions Trophy final.

While many of their players are not taking part in this series, the likes of Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell lead their T20 squad into their series with Pakistan. In T20 cricket, New Zealand have looked good, with five wins coming from their last seven outings.

Daryl Mitchell has continually put his ability to score runs on show across each format. With his Champions Trophy form in mind, I am backing Mitchell to top score for his side as they bounce back from their last defeat.

Pakistan Form

Pakistan were nowhere near good enough at the 2025 Champions Trophy as they lost to both New Zealand and India before then seeing their clash with Bangladesh cancelled due to the weather.

Pakistan will hope that a change of format will see their fortunes reversed. However, the shortest format has not been their friend of late. Indeed, the nation have lost their last three T20's, with a brace of defeats against South Africa following a loss to Zimbabwe.

I predict that the change in conditions will work against Pakistan as they struggle to bounce back from their awful showing at the Champions Trophy. This New Zealand side has continually shown that they are very strong across all three formats, and I predict that the Black Caps will notch their third win in four T20's against Pakistan.
