Paris vs Milano Preview

The pressure is rising as the season hits its most decisive phase–where every win feels like gold, and every loss can drag you into trouble.

Can Paris put an end to their three-game skid, or will Milano, riding high after their triumph in Belgrade, snatch another crucial road victory?

Paris Form & Team News

Paris were one of the biggest surprises of the first half of the season, at one point stringing together ten straight wins. But as expected, their form has dipped recently, and so have their results.

With a 16-13 record, they’re now part of a tight group of four teams fighting for a top-10 spot. The next four rounds will be anything but easy, making their path even tougher.

The first big test comes on Wednesday against Milan, who, despite plenty of struggles, managed to beat Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade last round—a win that also gave them a huge confidence boost.

Paris, meanwhile, suffered a tough loss in Kaunas against Žalgiris, blowing a 20-point lead they held in the second quarter. T.J. Shorts had a rough night, missing two key free throws and a crucial shot down the stretch.

The good news for coach Tiago Splitter is that he’ll have his full squad available for this must-win matchup.

Milano Form & Team News

After a crushing defeat to Fenerbahce and a series of unlucky breaks in that game, Milano bounced back in a big way with a huge road win over Crvena Zvezda.

That victory was a massive step toward securing a playoff spot, and they now have their fate in their own hands.

One of the heroes in Belgrade was Nikola Mirotic, who fought through clear health issues to deliver an outstanding performance with 19 points and 7 rebounds. He had solid support from Zach LeDay (15 points) and Shavon Shields (14 points).

Milano carried that momentum into the weekend, beating Brescia 79-73 on the road, and will now travel to Paris in high spirits.

As expected, coach Ettore Messina gave his top player a rest in that game, while other key contributors had limited minutes.

Freddie Gillespie and Neno Dimitrijevic remain questionable for the matchup in Paris.

Head to Head

The first meeting between these two teams took place in the second round of the competition, where Milano managed to break Paris' resistance only in the final moments, despite Paris holding the lead for most of the game. Shavon Shields was the standout performer, finishing with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Verdict

One way Paris can win this game is by coming out aggressive from the start and getting into the opponent's rhythm right away.

Milan has been playing well lately, but they’re struggling with injuries, and it’s uncertain how much of a contribution they’ll get from the clearly injured Mirotic, who is undoubtedly the team’s most important and best player.
