Two former Euroleague champions are having seasons to forget, with no playoff chances left for either team.

Will Maccabi secure their first four-game winning streak of the season, or will the Bologna visitors break their seven-game losing streak?

Despite a disappointing season in the Euroleague, Maccabi never gives up without a fight, which is definitely commendable.

After victories against Fenerbahce and Asvel, they also defeated Monaco in the previous round, marking their first three-game winning streak of the season.

With centers Jylen Hoard and Jasiel Rivero sidelined, the backcourt duo of Jokubaitis and Randolph stepped up, scoring 18 and 17 points respectively, while forwards Sorkin and Williams added 33 points and 18 rebounds.

With this win, Maccabi is now in sole possession of 16th place on the table with a 9-20 record, which could very well end up being their final position at the end of the regular season.

Hoard and Rivero are still recovering from injuries, and it remains uncertain whether we’ll see them on the court in the Euroleague this season.

Virtus are another club having a season to forget. The club's management has already shifted focus to plans for next season, and as part of that, they have extended the contract of trophy-winning coach Duško Ivanović for another year.

Knowing his character, Virtus will approach their final five Euroleague games with maximum motivation and commitment, and we’ll see if that’s enough to secure a few more wins.

In the previous round, they suffered their seventh consecutive loss in the competition. This time, they were beaten by Real Madrid, who comfortably won in Bologna 80:67.

In the losing team, only two players scored in double digits. Matt Morgan scored 11 points, while the somewhat forgotten Rayjon Tucker added 11 as well.

Apart from their poor performance, it will also be remembered that Virtus hit only 3 out of 20 three-point attempts.
